Pick a Home Page for your course

In Studium you have the following options to display as the Course Home Page: Course Activity Stream, Pages (Front Page), Course Modules, Assignments List and Syllabus. By default, the Course Home Page will display the Course Modules page.

Here is how you change the Course Home Page.

Click Home in the course menu. In the right sidebar click Choose Home Page.
This opens a window with your alternatives.
When you have selected your desired Home Page click Save.

Choose a page as Front Page

In order to display a page (Front Page) as your Course Home Page you must first select a page as Front Page.

In your course menu click Pages. This should bring you to a list of all pages in the course. Find the page you want to use as Course Home Page.
To the right of your selected page, click the three dots.
Click Use as Front Page.
Now return to Home in your course menu. You can now change your Course Home Page to display Pages Front Page.

Remember, only published pages can be set as the Course Home Page.

Example of how you can use your Front Page

We recommend you create a page to display as your Course Home Page which functions as an introduction to the online classroom. For example, the Course Home Page could give an overview of how the course content is organised/categorized. You could update the Course Home Page with important information throughout the duration of the course. It is also possible to give weekly feedback, perhaps by uploading a weekly video to make it more personal.

Alternatively: Syllabus

An alternative worth noticing is using the Syllabus as your Course Home Page. On this page every event with a set deadline (for example: assignments and tests) will be listed. There is also the option of writing a summary above the list where you could embed images or videos as an introduction.

This option as the Course Home Page makes it so the Home button redirects the student to the Syllabus page rather than it existing as a separate page.
