Zoom integrated into Studium

In your course, you can add Zoom directly to your course menu to allow students easier access to the course's online meetings.

First you will need to activate it in the course menu. See our guide on how to activate navigation links: Course Navigation Menu. Once the link is activated, it will be visible for students and instructors.

Notice!

If you are using Studium's integrated Zoom tool, only the students and the main host can access the Zoom meetings through the Zoom tool in the course menu. This means that if there are several instructors in your course, they won't see the Zoom meetings you have created unless they are using the Student view.

Therefore we recommend that you create a link to the meeting on a page. Or even better, add a to-do date on the page to add the Zoom meeting to everyone's calendars. This ensures that everyone knows where and when the meeting takes place.


Create a Zoom meeting in your course

Once you have activated Zoom in the course menu, click on it to begin.

This view will show all the meetings that you have created in Zoom. Don't worry, your students will only see what you have created in the course. You can always check for yourself by going to Home > using the Student view button in the top right corner > and by opening Zoom in the course menu.

  1. Begin by clicking Schedule a New Meeting
  2. Give your meeting a topic/name
  3. Set a date and time for your meeting.
    Note: You don't need to set a duration for the meeting as you will end it manually anyways.
    You can check the box "Recurrent meeting" to create a meeting which will be used several times. If you set it to "Recurrence: No Fixed Time" you can continue using the meeting without scheduled times.
  4. Where it says alternative hosts, you can add your coworkers who will be hosting the meeting with you.
  5. Once you are satisfied with your meetings settings, you can Save.

After you save, your Zoom meeting vill become visible for students. Once the meeting begins, the students will be able to click the link to join.
