Concluded enrolments
When a student receives a completed course result in Ladok, their status in the course in Studium will be set to "Completed".
What does this mean for students?
- The completed course will be moved from their Dashboard to their list of all courses (Courses > All courses Links to an external site. > Prior enrollments).
- The student is no longer able to participate in the course, but still has access to all published course material, grades, feedback, as well as their submitted assignments.
- The student will no longer receive messages or notifications from the completed course.
What does this mean for teachers and administrators?
From the instructors point of view the completed enrolments are hidden from both the Gradebook and People list. The instructor can easily show the students again if needed.
The course will remain open for 5 years if the instructor does not manually close it. This means that the students which did not complete the course can continue to participate and hand-in supplementary assignments. The completed enrolments will not be notified when new assignments are created.
Before you certify grades in Ladok
A completed course result in Ladok is the last step when grading a student - after the student has received a completed course result, their course status in Studium will be changed to "Completed". Once a student has completed the course, no grades can be added/edited or posted in the Gradebook and they will no longer receive new feedback.
Therefore, it is very important that all grades are posted for the student's before they receive a completed course result in Ladok. Please control check that no assignment columns have a crossed out eye icon. See our 3 step guide: Before certifying grades in Ladok.
Reset a students course status to "Active"
If necessary, it is possible to restore a students enrolment and set them to active again. This is done per student and can only be done by a Department Administrator. The admin can see concluded enrolments via People > three dots in the top right corner > View prior enrolments. Click on the students name that you wish to set to Active > Click on "more user details" > Restore this Enrollment.
View concluded enrolments grades & submissions
- In the Gradebook, click on the three dots in the student column
- Then click Concluded enrolments.
- The student column will now display students that have completed the course - as well as active students.
Once you have shown Concluded enrolments, then you can open SpeedGrader and see all student submissions regardless if they have completed the course or if they are still active.
How can I contact previously enrolled students?
Once a student has completed a course, they can no longer be messaged via that course. If you must contact students that have completed the course, our recommendation is that you e-mail them. We recommend using the Student List tool. There you can find all students (incl. the ones with concluded enrolments) and see the students' e-mail addresses. You can also e-mail the students from the tool.
Tip!
If you have Reading permissions at your institution, you can send a message to a specific student using the conversations inbox.
To do so: Search for the students name and do NOT select a course.
