Copy a Course Evaluation

Copy a Course Evaluation

When creating a new course evaluation, you can copy from an older course evaluation for which you are the orderer or co-orderer.

On this page, we will show how to copy for these two cases:

  • Copy a course evaluation from the previous academic year/term: if the original course evaluation already exists in another course, e.g. from the previous academic year or term,
  • Copy a course evaluation from the current course via the overview page: if the original course evaluation belongs to the same course and should be added to the same overview page. This may be useful when you have several course parts but want the same or similar evaluation questions for all parts.

Tips

If you need to create many copies of the same course evaluation, it might be more efficient to have it added as a departmental template. See question and answer 1d on this page: Vanliga frågor och svar om kursvärderingssystemet (only in Swedish at the moment).

Copy a Course Evaluation from the Previous Academic Year/Term

Suppose your current course belongs to the current term and you want to copy questions etc. from a course evaluation of the corresponding course from the previous term. In our example below, current term is Spring 2025 (VT2025).

  1. Go to the course in Studium to which you want the copy to belong, i.e. the correct course instance and term in Studium. It’s important to start from the correct course and term in Studium.

  2. Click on Course Evaluations in the course menu on the left side in your course.

  3. You will then be directed to the course evaluation system and see the overview page showing any existing course evaluations. In this example (image below) , there are none.

  4. Now click on My Page in the top left corner of the system (this will take you away from the overview page). Search for the previous year’s course evaluation (in our case, Spring term 2024 (VT24)).
    First copy My Page.png

  5. Click on the name of the course evaluation, and you’ll be taken to the edit page. Select the Preview, copy, etc. tab. Then click on Copy this form to a new order.First copy Copy-tab.png

  6. A new course evaluation with the same questions as in the evaluation at Spring term 2024 will be created. Edit as needed.

When you are satisfied with the questions, click on Next Step at the bottom right of the page:
    Next Spet.png

  7. You will then reach the About the Form page. Here you can see that the session code (tillfälleskod) and term have been automatically updated correctly (in our case, Spring Term 2025 (VT25)). Make sure that it’s the students from the 2025 academic year by choosing Only a selection of students... under Receivers and notices. Check that the other fields have been correctly filled in, e.g. contact person, co-orderer, course evaluation name, etc.
Set the correct opening and closing dates for the course evaluation, etc.

  8. When everything is correct, click Save form at the bottom right of the page.
    Save Form.png

  9. Everything is now ready. The new course evaluation (the copy) will appear on the overview page of the current course instance (VT2025) when you follow the link Course Evaluations from Studium.

Summary: Since you originally came from the new course in Studium (the new term, e.g. Spring term 2025) before going to My Page and creating the copy (from an older term, e.g. Spring term 2024), the term field in the About the Form tab of the copy will match the course you came from in Studium (the new term, i.e. Spring term 2025), and the student group that can fill out the course evaluation will be those registered in Spring term 2025.

Copy a Course Evaluation from the Current Course via the Overview Page

When you have several course parts within a course and want the same or similar course evaluation questions for all parts, so that all evaluations appear at the same overview page, there is a faster way to copy than in the section above.

  1. Go to the course in Studium to which you want the copy to belong. (Here Spring term 2025  (VT2025)).

  2. Click on Course Evaluations in the course menu on the left side of your course:
    Studium Course Home Page teacher.png

  3. You will then be directed to the course evaluation system and see the overview page showing any existing course evaluations. In this example, there is already one evaluation, i.e., for course part I.
    Overview after first copy.png

  4. When you want to create a course evaluation that belongs to the same course and the same overview page, click on the link to the course evaluation from which you want to copy (in our example, "Course evauation Part I"). You will then enter the edit mode for that course evaluation. Select the Preview, copy, etc. tab. Then click on Copy this form to a new order.
    Copy arrow nr 2.png

  5. A new course evaluation with the same questions as in the original will be created. Edit as needed (e.g. the title in our example).
    Copy 2 questions.png

When you are satisfied with the questions, click on Next Step at the bottom right of the page.

  6. You will then reach the About the Form page. Here you can see that the session code (tillfälleskod) and term have been automatically updated correctly (in our case, Spring term 2025 (VT25)). Edit the other fields: e.g. contact person, co-orderer, course evaluation name, reviewer, etc. Set the correct opening and closing dates for the course evaluation, etc.
Copy nr 2 About the form.png

  7. When everything is correct, click on Save form at the bottom right of the page:
    bild.png

  8. Everything is now ready. The new course evaluation (the copy) will appear on the same overview page as the original when you follow the link Course Evaluations from Studium.

Summary: Suppose you are working from a course belonging to Spring term 2025 in Studium. When copying course evaluations visible on the same overview page in the course evaluation system (belonging to Spring term 2025), the term field in the About the Form tab of the new copy will also be set to Spring term 2025.
