Introduction week activities

The 2024 autumn term will start with different introductory activities during the week on 26-30 August. Among these activities is an information meeting and roll-call on Tuesday 27th 13:15-15:00, and then individual meetings with each student (Wednesday to Friday). You can find a preliminary schedule for the introduction week further down on this page.
Note, it is important that you to attend the roll call and an individual meetings later in the week. If for some reason you are unable to attend, contact programme director Stefan Pålsson (see Contact below) as soon as possible (before the missed meeting) to discuss if there are any possibilities to proceed.

On Wednesday 28th, we invite you to take to participate in a steam train excursion (it is a real museum steam train) to Marielund outside Uppsala. We will socialise with other MSc students at the IT-department and have some fun. A light lunch and refreshments will be offered. The activity is free of charge.  You'll find more information below.

Apart from the above activities, the university have a welcome programme, for example welcome reception, a welcome ceremony and different online information sessions. You'll find the programme on https://www.uu.se/en/students/new-student/welcome-to-uppsala Links to an external site..

The courses start the week after the introduction week, September 2.

Looking for courses

To find courses at different departments, faculties, departments etc. the university search engine is good starting point: https://www.uu.se/en/study/search Links to an external site.  You can filter your search in different ways, for example to find all courses at the Science and Engineering faculty a certain period.

Remember to always look at the entry requirements (and also the main field), before you choose a particular course. You must meet the requirements, i.e. completed the specified courses or the equivalent.

Steam train Excursion

On Wednesday August 28, 10:10-14:10 we will take a museum steam train (Lennakatten) Links to an external site. to Marielund Links to an external site.. In Marielund we will socialise and have som fun and games. A light lunch and refreshments will be served. The activity is free of charge
Students at other MSc programs at the IT-department are also invited, so take the chance to meet with them! We'll be back in Uppsala at about 14:10.

To participate you simply come to the east side of Uppsala central station, Uppsala östra Links to an external site. no later than 10:10. The train leaves at 10:10 sharp, so it is important you are there in time.
