Important: this year the course coordinator will be assisted by a teacher. Therefore, when communicating, please mail both of us or with one in CC!

Welcome to this course

In this course project groups of 2--3 team members will perform research tasks and present their outcomes. The projects have been provided by external researchers who will also act as project supervisors. The course runs on 100% speed in period 2 and is on site at campus.

Students will be asked for inputs concerning their preferred projects and we try hard to adhere to those. Be prepared to consider also your second or third choices as there are finitely many projects available. You will get a mail with instructions concerning forming groups. Please await these instructions.
Project groups are asked to maintain a common work area which includes weekly time logs and reports about the progression of work in a single file, which is updated throughout the period. The preferred file name and extension: LOG.txt (.org or .md are also fine, but please avoid .docx or similar).
After the project has started, each team is responsible to mail a short weekly report (please simply use a plain text-mail!) each Friday to the supervisor with CC to the course coordinator:
1. What progress was made during the week and what issues remain?
2. What is the aim for next week?
3. If applicable: any further division of tasks agreed upon.
There are a few compulsory meetings and lectures for the course which make up 3.0hp. This part is scheduled joint with other project courses here. Also, there are additional compulsory meetings per each project group. Respect those scheduled meetings! In particular, note that the course runs at 100%, i.e., full time, and that it runs on campus and not as a distant course.

Students and supervisors are generally quite happy with this course and we sincerely hope that also 2026 will be a very fruitful project year! Consider to take a look at previous year's courses here.
