How to convert YouTube transcripts to Studio Closed Captions
This is a relatively easy way to create a caption file for videos shared in Studio from YouTube. This is only for YouTube videos. If you have recorded or uploaded your own video, use the automatic generating tool in Studio to create captions.
1. Open the transcript for the YouTube video by selecting the . . . and Open transcript.
2. Select all text, copy it, then paste and save in Notepad as a text (.txt) file.
3. Open the text file and make any changes to the text if necessary.
4. Go to this link: https://gotranscript.com/subtitle-converter
Links to an external site. and follow instructions: upload the text file and convert it to an SRT or VTT file.
5. Upload the SRT or VTT file to your video in Studio
