Tool Description
UDL lesson/unit planner Links to an external site. This document provides step-by-step planning through the UDL framework to design lessons or units. In addition to a lesson plan template, the document includes critical reflection questions for each stage of planning as well as additional resources and tips to support lesson designers through the process.

Implementing UDL on Canvas

This course provides a thorough overview of practical ways to use Canvas features to increase accessibility and quality of course design vis-a-vis UDL theory and practice.

Diversity Profiles Links to an external site. This tool provides several hypothetical students that represent different kinds of predictable, but significant diversity we may expect in our student population. Use as a tool for designing products (courses, lessons, assessments, materials) and/or evaluating existing products.
Proactive v. Reactive (The Game of Sorts) Links to an external site. This simulation/game is a way to break the ice regarding the utility of proactive planning and to raise discussion about the efficiency and effectiveness of top-heavy (proactive) vs. reactive course design. It doesn't assume that one or the other is superior, but allows pairs or groups to explore these questions and find out for themselves. It is also a good introduction to some of the characters in the above diversity profiles.
