The Role and Techniques of a Controller / CFO
Welcome!
Welcome to the course "The Role and Techniques of a CFO/Controller," the next step in your journey into expertise!
In our first lecture, Monday, January 16, I will give an overview of the course, its purpose, central concepts, and logic. In the lecture, I will also start the discussion about governance system/s, management control systems and the Role of the CFO in this critical and now fast-developing context/environment.
Besides articles uploaded in Studium, our coursebook is Romney et al. (2021) Accounting Information Systems Links to an external site. (15 th Global Edition). Our library has two copies so that you. if you are fast, can loan you a copy. You can also rent or buy it in an electronic version directly from Pearson. Instructions on how to do this will be presented later (the book is our "tool" in the second part of the course). We will also use parts of Brickley & Smith's (2022) "Advanced Introduction to Corporate Finance". Links to an external site. A book you also can lend from the library.
All (most) articles are now uploaded to Studium, so you can start reading. :)
Please remember – expertise is about identifying essential topics (questions & answers) and a professional language (concepts, logic). If you participate actively in lectures and our mandatory seminars, your knowledge will increase, and the examination will be much easier! I/we will also design our lectures according to that: 45 minutes of "teacher presentations" and 45 minutes of Q& A. All are related to the course topic for the day.
I am looking forward to doing the course together with you!
Regards Jan Lindvall
