Topic

The topic for the lab is unsupervised learning using variational autoencoders.

Format

The lab is scheduled for 4 hours, and done in groups of 2 students each. There are three different sessions scheduled, each group should attend one of these. The lab is mandatory for 1RT003 students and examination will be done during these 4 hours, no report needs to be written. If you prefer, you can do the lab before the lab session and only attend the session to be graded. However, the preparatory exercises must always be done before the lab session.

There are three time slots for doing the lab, two of them will be conducted one campus and one via Zoom

  • October 17, 13:15-17:00. Location: 10K1203, Ångström
  • October 18, 8:15-12:00. Location: Zoom (https://uu-se.zoom.us/j/63317521216)
  • October 18, 13:15-17:00. Location: 10K1121, Ångström

You can either choose to do the lab in your web browser via Google colab Links to an external site. or locally on your computer. If you choose the last option, make sure to have all software (notably PyTorch) installed before the lab session, see the instructions for details. 

Read and do the preparatory exercises before the lab session.

Registration

1. Choose a partner that you want to do the lab with.

2. Sign up for a lab group here. The time and location is given in the group name.

If you don't find a partner, you can sign up to a lab group alone and/or sign up to a group with only one group member
