The Master programme students at the IGP department: Forensic, Molmed, IMIM and MedNucTech will all join Bioinformatics during autumn 2026.
Welcome to the Bioinformatics mini-course!
The goal of this course is to introduce bioinformatics and computational biology from a perspective that is highly relevant for biomedical students who are planning to embark on MSc-degree projects.
In the course, we will focus on four concrete topics: pathways, gene expression images and statistics (see schedule below). Each topic is introduced by a lecture, followed by a computer lab, where you get some hands-on experience, with real-life data, using tools that are used by researchers today.
In addition to the lecturers, who are domain experts in biological networks Transcriptomics, image analysis and statistics. The computer labs will be attended by PhD students and others who will help out.
To pass the course, you should attend the lectures, the summary/evaluation November 20 and do all assignments. There is no further test/exam.
