The Master programme students at the IGP department: Forensic, IMIM, Molmed and MedNucTech will all join PT and Bioinformatics during autumn 2021. Send an email to Johanna Söderlund if you are a freestanding student and want to participate in PT or Bioinformatics.
Welcome to the Bioinformatics mini-course!
The goal of this course is to introduce bioinformatics and computational biology from a perspective that is highly relevant for biomedical students who are planning to embark on MSc-degree projects.
In the course, we will focus on four concrete topics: pathways, gene expression images and statistics (see schedule). Each topic is introduced by a lecture, followed by a computer lab, where you get some hands-on experience, with real-life data, using tools that are used by researchers today.
In addition to the lecturers, who are domain experts in biological networks (Holger Weisshaupts), transcriptomics (Liqun He), image analysis (Ida-Maria Sintorn) and statistics (Hanna Brooke), the computer labs will be attended by PhD students Ida Larsson and Emil Rosén.
To pass the course, you should attend the lecture and the lab. There is no further test/exam.
